Story

A month ago I finished the Woolacombe half marathon totals are now in and we’ve smashed the 14k mark. Thank you everyone for your kind donations.

Katy and I raised 12k by the time of the Blenheim triathlon.  In fact we were the highest individual fundraisers, I would  like  to thank all those who have taken part in sporting challenges and organised   events to raise funds and of course all those who supported us and continue to do so through your generous donations.

On the 26th of February 2018 my 7 year old daughter lost her two year battle with Acute lymphoblastic Lymphoma a relapse to Acute Myeloid Leukaemia and finally after her bone marrow transplant she suffered for 5 months with Adino Virus (cold virus) and possibly HLH (Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis). She eventually died of multiple organ failure after a contracting a type of Pneumonia.

Emily was a bubbly vibrant, dancing, singing, butterfly and rainbow loving little girl who bravely and stoically faced her gruelling treatment, we are so so proud of her and absolutely devastated by our loss.

From the outset we were appalled by the amoury of drugs used on our child and there short and long term side effects. Research into cancers is at a threshold with moves towards less impactfull and more specific treatments both pharmaceutical and biotechnological.

Our daughter was a generous soul and raised money herself for various cancer charities (primarily through baking) she was alway willing to offer a smiling photo to help others raising money for children like her and touch peoples hearts all over the world.

Much as her case will further the understanding of blood cancers so will your donation so please give generously and share on social media widely.
