Fundraising for The Pink Ribbon Foundation
Story
Who are we?
We are CTC; a competitive league that focuses on the Capture the Flag gamemode for TF2.
CTF has always been a flawed gamemode, however, it is part of TF2, and Valve wants to include it in their vision for competitive - what our cup wants to achieve is to try and find the right settings and maps to make CTF a more fun experience, while keeping as few class and weapon limitations as possible, so it is as close to normal experience you COULD have in Valve competitive.
Why a charity?
Most of us have always wished to do a charity event and seeing how October is the breast cancer awareness month we decided it would be a great fit and addition for our second season.
So who are we supporting?
This charity supports the Pink Ribbon foundation (all relevant links will be at the bottom of the page). They seemed like a good choice and were super friendly and helpful. Here is a word or two about the foundation from our contact person:
"The Pink Ribbon Foundation is a grant making trust with a mission to fund projects and provide financial support to UK charities which relieve the needs of people who are suffering from, or who have been affected by breast cancer or who work to advance the understanding of breast cancer, its early detection and treatment.
The Pink Ribbon Foundation has very little infrastructure. It relies on the hard work given by Trustees, interested parties and its Patrons. This is done in order to maximise the amount, which goes to the charities that benefit from the funds raised."
For how long will the charity be open?
The charity will be from the 14th of October to the 28th of October. The cup will be during the weekend in-between so the 19th and 20th of October.
Is there any reward for donating?
Any player that donates €5, $5.5 or £4.5, or more, to this event and includes their steamid in their donation message will be granted a CTC donation medal in-game to wear.
The medal is already in-game so we will distribute them as soon as the event has concluded.
