Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Its been a BIG dream of mine to run the London Marathon (in London!) and I thought I'd get the chance in the year both the London Marathon and I turned 40 (2020). I had a place and was all good to go but then the world changed...

I did run the 40th London Marathon but did it 'my way' round the streets near home in the wind and rain! I was immensely touched by all the support my family and friends gave me, it definitely lifted my spirits and kept me going.

This year I am honoured that Wheelpower have given me one of their places to run the London marathon. This time I'm going to run it in actual London!

In case you don't already know, WheelPower is a truly AMAZING charity, born from the legendary Stoke Madeville Hospital. It supports people with disabilities participate in sporting activities and events to boost their physical strength, confidence and transform their lives. Their home is the Stoke Mandeville Stadium, a sports complex suitable for a wide range of sports and physical activities at the internationally recognised birthplace for Paraolymic movement. WheelPower delivers a programme of sporting opportunities and events for disabled people of all ages and abilities to take part in.

To date I am amazed to say I have completed three marathons (trained for four as 2020 got postponed), two half marathons and a handful of other runs. I do not consider myself to be an athlete by any means - but what I do have is a massive amount of determination and once I set a goal in sight I never give up until I achieve it.

As an Occupational Therapist I am very passionate about supporting people with difficulties live life to their absolute max. I feel extremely privileged to be running the marathon for this fantastic charity. I would be very grateful if you can support me to support them - 100% of everything I raise goes to WheelPower so they can make the difference to so many more people's lives.
