Story
When Woody arrived, we were in shock! Our minds were racing with the worry of his health and development. The care and support we have received from the staff at the Royal Oldham NICU has been outstanding and Woody's progressing so well.
Add your prediction as a comment with your donation. If we get multiple correct guesses, we'll split the hamper. So far in the hamper is a box of shortbread biscuits, a Christmas cake and a bottle of Hendricks gin. More to be added!
In the early days, the practicalities of having a baby in the NICU was the last thing on our minds, but Spoons were there with a beautiful box of goodies for parents and baby. This box will become his memory box. They helped to organise free hospital car parking for two cars which has not only helped our finances but taken away all the stresses of having the right change and getting a ticket twice a day when we're in a rush to see our boy. They've helped us to mark early milestones like his first cuddle, when he was first dressed and his first bath. Volunteers are available to talk to parents in the unit and they arrange regular get together so families can share their experiences. Lots of equipment on the unit for babies and families is a result of their fundraising. They're a fantastic charity!
