Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In 2015 I was lucky enough to find a beautiful boy called Beau and his lovely owner Carol. She encouraged me to get back in the saddle, to love my riding, and to get up early nearly every day!

In the same year I followed Wilberry the Wonder Pony and his brave and feisty champion, 17 year old Hannah as she battled cancer raising money for the teenage cancer trust #kickingcancersbutt.

And then I saw a post encouraging "Middle Aged Wimpy Riders" to train for a BE80 event in September 2017. For the uninitiated that's a one day event, with jumps bigger than I've ever jumped before, and a cross country course. (I had to look it up!)

I fall off jumping
I've never done cross country before (it's scary!)
And I haven't competed since I was 15
I'm definitely middle aged
And feeling decidedly wimpy
But Hannah was brave and always up for a challenge
Carol says Beau will look after me
And there's a year to get ready.  Or there was - until I fell off and broke my hand (told you I was good at it).  7 weeks later I am back in the saddle and aiming for 2018 to finish the challenge.

But I am wimpy, so if you would sponsor me then I wouldn't possibly be able to back out, would I?
