Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have decided to take up three challenges this year, all in support of Zoe's Place. this charity supports children from birth to five who have health care needs that on many occasions may limit their lives. Zoes place provides a home from home enviroment in which parents can leave their children and trust that they are cared for in a unique and individual way. The video link says it all really!
As well as doing this for such an amazing cause in which I think many people would take up, I am doing this for myself at the same time. As some of you may know I suffer from Rheumatoid Arthritis, which is currently causing me to be in a continuous battle with my legs. In fighting this condition and battling the disease I have found Military Fitness Circuits Rugby, they have helped me to strengthen my legs and fight the condition despite surgeons telling me they can't operate anymore. With the support of Military and my sports therapist I feel I can and should fight this condition. In doing so I am doing these three challenges to show that pure grit and determination can get you a long way!
The first event in which I am partaking in is The Iron Run this event is taking place on the 28th March 2014. During this I shall be running, crawling, jumping and swimming through swamps, mud, hills, water and woods. (www.ironrun.co.uk)
The next event I am partaking in is The Rat Race Big Dirty Weekend, "The Biggest Obstacle Race in the World" on the 10th of May 2014. This event is a whooping 20 miles, with 200 obstacles, where I will endure blood, sweat and tears. (www.ratracedirtyweekend.com)
The third and final event in which I will be partaking in will be the Coventry to Paris bike ride, which is an enduring 310 miles over 4 days.(more information on the route will be posted nearer to the event.)
Not only will I face the physical challenges of all these events but the mental challenges that these will put before me. I ask please that you can donate whatever you can it be £1 or more, but anyone that knows me 50 quid would be nicer ;).
