Story

Together we can do more for our hospitals and patients. Patients are diagnosed and treated faster, families and loved ones are more comfortable, and staff travel out of county for specialised training - all through generous support given to Royal Cornwall Hospitals Charity.Your support moves care at Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust (Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro, West Cornwall Hospital, Penzance & St Michael's Hospital, Hayle), beyond the basic provision of the NHS.

When Kev was being treated for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma the staff were so supportive and the resources we had to help us with seeming little things really made a difference.

I want to give something back to the hospital in his memory, and in what better way than to run his favourite race, the London Marathon.

I am also trying to raise awareness that donating a kidney doesn't stop you from competing in endurance sports.  I donated my left kidney in 2014 and am in the best health now than I have ever been.

For those that know me will understand that this is a challenge for me in itself as I don’t do crowds of people and I don’t do road running! However, as I realise to some ‘Carrie running a marathon’ is simple I have also set this challenge only a couple of months after running 2 ultra trail marathons! So I think you’ll get your money’s worth from any donation you make!
