Story

My name is Carrie Hope Fletcher and I'm somewhat known for my big blonde curly hair. There's a lot of it. Seriously. Birds could live in it. I'm constantly pushing it out of the way, pulling strands of it out of my dinner when I've leant too far and always apologising for it getting in people's faces when I hug them. But the time has come for me to put it to good use and give it to someone who needs it far more than I do.

After I finish my run in Les Miserables at the Queen's Theatre in London, I shall cut off 7-12 inches (or whatever I can spare!) of my hair and donate it to The Little Princess Trust (http://www.littleprincesses.org.uk/) to go towards making wigs for children who have lost their hair due to various illnesses. The money I raise here on this page shall be going to Great Ormond Sreet Hospital Children's Charity as I visited a couple years ago and I've seen, first hand, the amazing work they do. I also helped raise money for them last year in honour a little girl whose parents met working on Les Miserables, however she sadly lost her battle against Nueroblastoma last year. I'd like to keep raising money for GOSHCC so that more children get the chance to win their battles.

I'd like to thank John Green for letting me know this was something I could do via his VlogBrothers video. His book 'The Fault in our Stars' is a favourite of mine and the actress, Shailene Woodley, playing Hazel in the film adaptation, cut her hair for the role and donated it to charity which sparked off the campaign #HairForHazel. So, thank you Mr Green. :)

As silly as it sounds, my hair means a lot to me. I've never had it cut short and it's always been my insurance that I'll never get lost in big crowds as my friends always play "Spot The Hair" and find me almost instantly. But as soon as I found out that anyone could donate hair to chairty, my mind was made up. So, please get donating! This is a huge, huge deal for me and I want to raise the most I possibly can! And if you can't donate then SHARE THIS PAGE! Retweet! Reblog! Make videos! GO CRAZY! Let's make sure these children know they've got The Hopefuls on their side.

All my love,

Carrie
