Story
Having resolved to get fitter and healthier, I recently embarked upon the Couch 2 5k programme. Halfway through the programme, I decided I needed some more motivation, and was inspired to register for a 5k charity run in November. When I was deciding who to raise money for, there was only one contender...
Contact a Family are a national charity that offers advice, information and support for families with disabled children.
I've worked at the Southwark project office for over two years, during which time I've seen first hand the positive impact that the service has, whether it's days out to the beach, benefits advice, influencing local government or simply being a place where parent-carers can offload. Sadly, I've also seen our service reduced due to local and national funding cuts over the last year.
Any money that I raise will go directly to the Southwark project, enabling us to support even more families. To give you an idea, £300 would fund a whole day's worth of well-deserved pamper sessions for parent-carers with disabled children.
Thanks for looking at my page, and thanks in abundance if you decide to help me towards my fundraising goal!
