On 21st March 2019 I will be representing the Newcastle Eagles Community Foundation at the annual CEO Sleepout, bedding down for the night pitch-side at St James' Park. Myself and dozens of other members of the local business community will be taking part in this event to raise vital funds and awareness to help combat homelessness and poverty in Newcastle.

First of the charities that will benefit from your donations are the Newcastle United Foundation which uses football to engage with the most marginalised young people in the North East and helps get lives back on track. Given my lifelong passion for football, not to mention my strong family connection to the North, you will understand why this is a cause I am delighted to be supporting.

The second charity is Changing Lives, which supports vulnerable and homeless people all over the UK. While homelessness may seem like a scenario many of us are lucky enough to find unimaginable, a lack of support can mean there are many life events that can begin the downward spiral. Homelessness has risen dramatically in the last 10 years and charities such as this one have provided a lifeline for countless numbers of people in need.

I am hoping to raise £1000 over the next few weeks to help these amazing charities continue their crucial work, so any donation you can make will be gratefully received. Please help support a soft southerner taking on a north east winter night.
