In November I will be heading into one of the driest places on Earth to raise money for Water Aid.  I will be trekking 100km through sand dunes and rocky salt pans for a cause I feel is one of the most important on the planet - the provision of clean, fresh water.  Freshwater is a limited resource on this planet and humans can only go 3 days without it before its Game Over.  I will never ever fail to be thankful that I can turn on a tap without thinking and access safe, clean water to drink, without having to walk further than the distance to my sink. 

Currently, 650 million people live without access to safe water, 2.3 BILLION people don't have access to adequate sanitation (that's 1/3 of the planets population) and 900 children under the age of 5 are dying from diarrhoeal diseases linked to dirty water, EVERY DAY.

So if you are grateful you can brush your teeth without fear of catching a life threatening disease, or that you can give your sick child water to drink and know it will help them and not potentially kill them, then please support me in this challenge and sponsor me with however much you are willing to give.  Every little helps and I've got a big target to hit!

Also if you are happy to send me into one of the most inhospitable places in this world and see if I'm up to the challenge that is also a good reason to sponsor!

Above all, remember just how LUCKY we are in this country to have access to safe drinking water - never take it for granted, even when the water pipe bursts and ruins your wallpaper.
