Story
Thank you for visiting the fundraising page for the Community of the Resurrection Centenary Church Appeal.
We are delighted to have the Archbishop of Canterbury and Archbishop Desmond Tutu as our patrons. The Archbishop of Canterbury said:
"I am delighted to be a patron of the Appeal to raise funds for the refurbishment of the Community of the Resurrection Church. This building is at the very heart of the Community, providing a focus for Christian worship and education and reminding us of the contribution of Religious Communities to the church and to the wider community in the present day. The church is now in need of urgent repair and upgrading so that it can continue to serve the Community and to welcome those individuals and organisations to whom it has opened its doors. I warmly commend this project to you."
The target for stage one of the appeal is £1.7 m (the total cost of the work is £2.3 m)
Our consultants estimated that from planned giving, smaller donations and events we could raise between £110,000 and £380,000. In fact, it is now realistic to think we will have raised something like £700,000 from those sources.
However, every appeal needs at least one major donor and some major grants, and in both of these areas so far we have failed. We are continuing to work on this.
