Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have completed the Great North Run on previous occasions and each time been overwhelmed by the support from the local community. This year I wanted to give something back to the North East and have been lucky enough to secure a place running for the Durham Wildlife Trust (DWT).
DWT are a small local charity who, like many of those running the GNR, depend heavily on local support. In addition to numerous conservation projects DWT also deliver environmental educational activities across the North East. These range from guided wildlife walks, footpath construction and forest schools, to name just a few. DWT also manage 35 nature reserves covering almost 800 hectares in the area, with each reserve having its own conservation management plan.
