Story

What is this fundraiser about?

To ensure the Ann Craft Trust can continue with their vital work and those most at risk are safeguarded at this challenging time, on Sunday 26 April, I will be walking 2.6 miles and taking 26 photographs along the way to fundraise for the charity as part of the 2.6 challenge.

You can see my 26 photos by clicking in the gallery at the top of this page.

If you are  unable to get outside due to self isolating, or do not have access to green space, I hope these photographs will help to bring a tiny piece of the countryside to you.

How can you make a difference?

If you enjoy looking at the photographs (or even just feel amused at my very amateur photography skills) please donate to support the Ann Craft Trust who are continuing to carry out amazing work to protect those at risk during Covid-19.

Even the smallest amount will be very much appreciated. If you are unable to donate, please share this page to spread the word about the fantastic work of the Ann Craft Trust and the free resources they have available to advise you on how to stay safe during lockdown.

The Ann Craft Trust

The work of the Ann Craft Trust is dedicated to key issues affecting adults and young people at risk. Including domestic abuse, forced marriage, financial abuse, grooming, sexual exploitation and disability hate crime.

Given the current lockdown, abuse cases in the home are on the rise. It is especially important that people know how to spot the signs of abuse and are aware of how to report it and get help.

The Ann Craft Trust has adapted quickly to safeguarding issues in relation to Covid-19. They have:

  • Produced free resources that provide advice for how to stay safe
  • Produced practical tips for how to stay safe if you are volunteering or receiving voluntary support
  • Raised awareness of how to access support if you are at risk of domestic abuse.
  • Hosted free virtual seminars for practitioners working with at risk groups to provide them with up to date information on protecting people at risk of abuse during lockdown.
  • Created a Q&A hour on Twitter (each Wednesday from 12-1pm) to allow people to ask safeguarding questions and share best practice for how to support those most at risk of abuse in relation to Covid-19 #ACTSafeguardingHour

The Ann Craft Trust believes that everyone has the right to be treated with respect and dignity and their work as a national charity providing training, practice reviews and contributing to world-leading research is essential to protect the most vulnerable in society.
