Durham Wildlife Trust is an incredible charity which strives to protect our natural habitats in County Durham. They work with the help of volunteers to conserve nature reserves not only for the wildlife that live there but to engage with local people and schools, educating them in the importance of wildlife conservation in our changing world. I am a volunteer reserves officer for DWT and I see first hand how important the work that they do for our local wildlife and community is.
When choosing to take part in the Great North Run I knew that this was a chance to raise money for a fantastic charity that I support endlessly, and so I encourage everyone to show their own support and donate. All money raised will go directly to DWT and allow them to continue their important work in protecting the precious landscapes of County Durham.
Thank you to everyone for their encouragement and support, I'd better get running!
