Fundraising for Choose Love - Prism the Gift Fund
Story
In response to the desperate situation in Ukraine, The Sawday’s brands (Sawday’s, Canopy & Stars and Paws & Stay) have announced 5% of company revenue will be donated to the Choose Love Ukraine Crisis Fundraiser in March. In addition, the company will also be donating 5% of the equivalent of employees’ salaries this month to the appeal, as a gesture on employees’ behalf.
We're inviting those in our community to join us in giving 5% for Ukraine to raise as much as possible together for the Choose Love Ukraine Crisis Fundraiser.
Your £10 donation could provide a warm coat for a child. Donations of £90 could fund emergency housing for the most vulnerable people, including pregnant women and unaccompanied children. If you donate £550, this can provide a bundle of the most urgently needed items for people rebuilding their lives in a new country.
About the Choose Love Ukraine Crisis Fundraiser
According to national authorities, more than 1,000,000 people have fled Ukraine since the Putin-led invasion of Ukraine, home to 44 million, on 23rd February. (Correct as of 04/03/22).
This is the potential beginning of another major refugee crisis.
This invasion will be the most significant military action in Europe in decades and raises fears of the forced displacement of millions of people. Through our partners and friends in Syria we have seen what Putin is capable of and the impact this has on civilians- families, children. We have seen what happens when the world does not do enough.
We stand with people in and fleeing Ukraine during this devastating moment in history.
With your donations we’ll be supporting projects (that meet our criteria) who are providing vital aid and services to those still in and fleeing the country, including: emergency medical care, food, shelter, clothes, legal support, support for the LGBTQIA+ community and mental health support.
We are currently reaching out to our network, including existing partners in the region, to get urgent support to the organisations stepping up to help to those who desperately need it at this time.
It’s easy to feel helpless in moments like this, but we ask you to respond with love in the face of such calculated and cruel aggression. Please give what you can to this urgent appeal, and please also share this fundraiser as widely as you can.
