Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As some of you know I have had a fantastic opportunity to Volunteer as a Nurse in Malawi specifically working in St Andrews Hospital. I have set up this page as I am hoping to raise money for a hospital generator which is much needed. Currently in the area the hospital is based there can be power cuts lasting over 12 hours which greatly disrupts services. The loss of power occurs during surgery, lab investigations become very difficult, Oxygen, Cpap  and suction don't work and the blood cannot be used as there is nowhere to store it this sadly has and will continue to result  in the death of adults and children. This is a very real issue in Malawi. The amount I am hoping to raise is around £2000, some money has been raised from other sources but if we could reach this target we can pay the deposit to order and install the generator. When I say this will save lives it definitely will. I myself am going to donate a large sum but I need a bit of help from friends family and colleagues to reach or surpass the target. If you could just give a few pounds it would be of great help and if possible like the page Medic Malawi on Facebook or visit there website and read what they are all about. Thanks
