Story
I’m 62, haven’t run a half marathon in 35 years or been a regular runner in recent years and had less than three months to prepare for the Worcester City Run on Sunday Sept 5.
As a Worcestershire Ambassador I believe in the need to promote good mental health and wellbeing and to fund support services like those provided by Worcester Community Trust (see details below).
You can follow my progress via a series of blogs and videos to be posted on this page in the build up to the event.
Over the past 18 months, the coronavirus pandemic has had an impact on everybody's mental health and wellbeing.
All of the funds raised will be used by Worcester Community Trust to offer professional support and activities to build good mental and well being to individuals across the county. This will be organised through Moodmasters and Mental Health First Aid Courses.
How funds will be used:
- £94 - Cost of funding one place on a Mental Health First aid course.
- £2,790 - Cost of training one person to deliver Mental Health First Aid courses that will support up to 350 people.
- £82 - Cost of funding one place on a MoodMasters course
- £1,250 - Cost of training one person to deliver MoodMaster courses to support 200 people.
Pease give generously to this worthy cause – if not for me then someone else participating in the Worcester City Run. Your money will be well spent as detailed above.
Better still, come out and support us all on the day.
