Story
After last years endeavours I have decided to get back in
the saddle again and take part in the “Giro DAFiTalia” Pisa to Nice Cycle
Challenge to raise money for The Children's Adventure Farm Trust.
From Wednesday 19th July to Saturday 22ndJuly I will be cycling the 256 miles from Pisa to Nice. My journey will start in Tuscany in the
shadow of the leaning tower of Pisa and will finish on the south east coast of France in Nice.
I am undertaking this challenge for a hugely worthy cause, The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust (or CAFT as it is known). Along with a team of participants from CAFT, this demanding itinerary will take 4 days to complete.
Our itinerary and mileage will be:
Day 1: Pisa to Borghetto di Vara - 60miles – Elevation Gain – 1,275m
Day 2: Borghetto di Vara to Genoa - 68miles – Elevation Gain – 3,106m
Day 3: Genoa to Imperia - 73 miles –Elevation Gain – 2,174m
Day 4: Leave Italy, travel through Monaco to Nice - 55 miles – Elevation Gain – 2,296m
Some of you may know that CAFT is very dear to our hearts at
Howard Worth. This amazing charity is based at the beautiful Booth Bank Farm, a 17th Century farmhouse set in the heart of the Cheshire countryside and provides a variety of programmes for terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children from all over the North
West. I hope to raise £1000 however if I can beat
this target it would be fantastic as CAFT must raise in excess of £900,000 each year in order to survive.
If you can manage to sponsor me no matter how small the
donation, I would be incredibly grateful and all the money raised will help the wonderful work at CAFT to continue.
HUGE thanks.
Chris.
