We are a couple of intrepid cyclists cycling 100,000km across the 7 continents of the world raising awareness and funding for the charity “Prevent Breast Cancer”

We are from the North West of England, and on the 9th of July 2018 we set off from the Nightingale Centre in Wythenshawe Manchester (UK) on our World cycling tour, we are cycling 100,000km across all seven continents through 67 countries carrying everything we need on our bikes. We estimate the tour to take at least seven years.
The reason we are both doing this is because our passion is cycling and travel. Having already cycled around various parts of the world, we decided to do the ultimate round the world tour, so had planed to leave on the 1st March 2017, our bikes were all set up and ready for the off, and then suddenly the unthinkable happened, ‘I’ Gabriella was diagnosed with breast cancer a couple of weeks before we were due to leave, so we cancelled our tour. I had a double mastectomy in the March, followed by six cycles of chemotherapy, more surgery and ongoing treatment till 25th June 2018, we set off 4 days later.
Our world cycling tour is raising awareness and funding for the charity Prevent Breast Cancer. This charity is close to our hearts as they focus solely on predicting and preventing breast cancer, and without them we would have a completely different Story
Throughout the past few years we have been faced with various challenges that life has thrown at us, from losing some of our dearest friends to cancer, and then, to going through our own cancer journey, and thats exactly what we like to call it, a journey, a journey through life, non of us knows what lies ahead, but whatever is coming, you have to keep moving forward and harness the elements along the way, we want to give something back, so we hope that we can share with each and everyone of you the journey that we have ahead, and that we can help to make a difference to peoples live’s, we believe that over the next 7 years we can help Prevent Breast Cancer spread awareness throughout the world and raise much needed funding, by cycling for a healthier future.

As the only UK charity entirely dedicated to the prediction and prevention of breast cancer, we’re committed to freeing the world from the disease altogether. Unlike many cancer charities, we’re focused on preventing, rather than curing. Promoting early diagnosis, screening and lifestyle changes, we believe we can stop the problem before it starts. And being situated at the only breast cancer prevention centre in the UK, we’re right at the front-line in the fight against the disease
