We are Chloe and Chrissy, Daughter and Mum and as part of my Duke of Edinburgh Award I needed to do something for our community, and wanted to raise money for a local charity.  so I thought it would be a good idea to sign up for the 5K Glow in the Park run on the 14th November and raise money for a special charity called MAPS (Mentoring Advocacy Peer Support http://mapsmentoring.co.uk/) who my mum also volunteers for as a Mentor. MAPS is a life changing project that supports vulnerable children and young people, who have challenging lives. MAPS gives them the space and time they need to reflect on their situation or to simply forget about it for an hour and enjoy life, being a kid - something that they just don't get to do.

This is going to be a challenge for both of us as we have never done anything like this before, and on our first day of training we ran 1.14k in 12minutes but when we got home mum was feeling every step of that 1.14k and I suggested she might need to lie down!!

This is an amazing charity that do so much for children in the community and we ask if you would please help us to support them by making a donation and share this page with your family, friends and colleagues.
