My fundraising for Hannah's Willberry Wonder Pony Charity

Will you help me raise money for a great cause and achieve an ambitious sporting goal at the same time... ?

I've had a long held ambition to have a go at Eventing (since about age 8) but had pretty much resigned myself to being a spectator rather than a participant in the sport.  

When the Wobbleberry Challenge for the Willberry Wonder Pony Charity was announced, I put the fact that I don't own a horse to one side and decided that I should sign up to raise money for a fantastic cause (and work out the details later because that'll just make it even more of a challenge!).   The goal is to prepare for and to compete in a BE80 competition in a year's time (that's a one day event with dressage, showjumping and cross-country with the jumps at around 80cm).

Hannah’s Willberry Wonder Pony Charity was registered in March 2016 and fundraises for bone cancer research and the granting of horsey wishes for seriously ill people and their families.  The charity was set up by 18 year old Hannah Francis before she lost her battle against bone cancer in August 2016.  You can read more at https://www.willberrywonderpony.org .

I believe there are 1,200 of us who have signed up to this challenge across the UK and an estimated fundraising target across all "Wobbleberries" of £250,000.  

So, what is a Wobbleberry ?(taken from www.wobbleberries.com):

A shy, elusive creature, the wobbleberry's natural habitat is spectating at British Eventing events, and supporting other riders - but all this is about to change!!!

Key Characteristics:

- not currently fit enough to get round a cross country course
- not currently brave enough to get round a cross country course
- old enough to know better, and know that this will hurt!
- dedicated - to raising money, to training, and conquering the fear
- supportive of each other - aiming to be weeble-esque, "we wobble, but we don't fall down".
