I've committed to cycling along the West Coast of The US for a Charity for which I have experience with as both my parents received treatment  and exceptional care there through what were very difficult times.

It'll be a spectacular trip but also arduous. Two of the 6 days that we'll take to cycle the 600km will, without doubt, be the most demanding ever for me. FYI Coastal cycling is hilly, this one especially so!! The route will include stretches of highway one and also the whole of the Big Sur coastline that has just reopened after huge landslides. 

I've trained a little but will mostly be relying on equal measures of stubbornness and stupidity to get me through. I made the mistake of looking at the altitude profiles for the hardest days which has reinforced my trepidation somewhat!

I've covered the costs of this personally. I've also made a very significant donation which has exceeded the amounts required to take part.
