Story

In memory of our wonderful friend and colleague - Jon Doar - who sadly lost his battle with cancer last year; the CIE Team are taking on the world this year (or at least 3 parts of it!) to raise money for our supported charity 'Maggie's Centres'.

This year the CIE Team will be taking on our 'Triple Challenge' of endurance cycling and climbing. Beginning in February with the Derby Huub Track Attaque - a 24hour non-stop velodrome cycle challenge and rounding things off with taking on the world's tallest freestanding mountain - the mount kilimanjaro - as we ditch the bikes and pull on our climbing boots!

Derby Huub Track Attaque | 8-9th February 2020

24 Hour velodrome challenge

The challenge takes place at Derby Arena - the Midlands’ hub for track cycling in February. The 250 metre track has been ridden by some of the worlds top cyclists and is the home of independent British UCI track team, Huub Wattbike. This velodrome challenge event is all about endurance as team CIE will be relaying laps around the track for 24 hours!

Challenge Adventure Charities - Pyrenees | September 2020

500 miles in 3 days cycle challenge

CIE's very own TEAM CIE charity cyclists are getting back in the saddle as they embark upon their 2020 marathon cycle challenge through the Pyrenees!

Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro | 24th-30th September 2020

In September members of the CIE team are taking on the challenge to summit Mount Kilimanjaro - the highest freestanding mountain in the world on the African continent at 5896m! The 19,341ft climb will consist of traverse jungles and wetlands as well as battling altitude sickness as the team ascend to the chilly heights of the glaciers to reach the summit.

About our charity - Maggie's Centres

This year we will once again be supporting our chosen charity for the third year running - Maggie's Cancer Support Centres. A charity close to our hearts.

Centre Manager for Maggie's Nottingham - Kate Martin - told us why the
fundraising efforts and all your donations are so important;

"We provide emotional, psychological, social and practical support to
anyone affected by cancer. Fundraising is hugely important to us and
we're so grateful to CIE for recognising the support we've given to
their colleagues. We are so grateful to CIE for raising this money for
us and we will continue to provide the high level of support that we do.
 Thank you guys!"

Please help us with our ongoing support of this amazing charity which continues to provide advice, assistance and emotional support by  sponsoring the CIE team now!
