Story
I'm one of the TJX team running in the London and Paris 2018 marathons in support of Cancer Research UK.
Receiving a cancer diagnosis can feel overwhelming and is a desperately worrying time for the sufferer and for their family and friends. Many of us have first hand experience of this devastating illness and the gruelling treatment that follows.
It is heartening that the work of Cancer Research UK and other charities has contributed so much to the dramatically improved outcomes for people with cancer - 5 year survival rates for the most common cancers affecting men and women are now 87% for prostate and 85% for breast cancer.
Last year CRUK spent almost £500 million on vital research and early diagnosis initiatives - all raised from the generosity of people like you!
Thanks so much for supporting this great cause and for helping me get through those final miles to the finishing line.
