Story

I was paralysed in 2007 from the chest down whilst eventing. Since then I decided to do what i could to help cure paralysis- and have now raised over £575,000. In 2012 I walked the London Marathon in the ReWalk suit- it took 17 days of effort but I made it! Then in 2016 I completed the Vitality 10k in a day as an unofficial entry- but for the first time I was an official entry in the Great North Run. I had a 5 day head start, walking double the distance each day that I did on the London Marathon, and the hills were tough as well as the added factor of being 16 weeks pregnant! However, I made it and crossed the finish line first!

In October 2017 I am going to have a very tough 24 hours and attempt to complete the Great South Run with only a 24 hour head start. I will be walking throughout the night. I don't know if I will definitely make it to the finish- but what I do know is I will give it everything I have got … and hopefully that will get me there!  Lamp post to lamp post- or 100 lots of 0.1 mile …That makes it feel doable.. but TEN MILES eeekkk!!

Any support is hugely appreciated and a boost to me throughout the  training and the event!

Thanks to reWalk and the Great South Run for making this possible- as well as my lovely support team including my two daughters.

Many thanks

Claire
