Fundraising for B.I.R.D Charity
Story
This charity is close to the hearts of our family.
BIRD have given support and hope to Will and his family. Before starting on the programme, will was struggling with many issues such as poor social understanding, self-care issues, behaviour in and out of school, panic attacks and disrupted sleep. At the point when we started the programme he was struggling to attend school full time.
Since starting the exercise programme in June 2017 he is sleeping better which has had an amazing impact on his ability to function on a day to day basis. He had a high level of anxiety but it has now been 2 months since his last panic attack and his levels of anxiety have reduced. Socially he is finding things easier and last month he was invited to his first ever sleepover at a friends house which was amazing.
The programme coupled with changes in his medication and speech and language therapy has brought about amazing changes for Will and he is now able to interact with his peers. He is happy and settled in school, attending full time and making amazing progress with his learning.
There is still a way to go yet as the adult reflexes involved in the movements in his arms are still not developed properly so he still struggles with his writing and other tasks that need his fine motor skills, such as tying shoe laces. He is still completing his daily exercises and we hope that we will see more improvements at our next appointment and over the next 6 months so that he can begin high school in September 2018 with the best possible starting point.

My two brothers David, Peter and myself will be running the Chester Half Marathon Sunday 29th April and my sister Toni and I will be running the Chomondley castle Half Marathon in June!!! It's such an amazing charity and is in great need of fundraising so please help us with a donation!
