Story

Anyone who lives in or visits Brighton has seen the amount of homeless rise by an alarming amount in recent times. Sadly there is not enough support coming from the council and the government in finding a solution, which is where organisations like the Clock Tower Sanctuary step in. They are an entirely self-funded charity who rely on the likes of you and I to support them in making a change for the better in so many lives.

If you are reading this you are most likely aware that I am not a runner, I have never been a runner, and I am not intending to be a runner after April 9th 2017.

I started training for all 26.2 miles of the Brighton Marathon towards the end of last year, and recently ran the Brighton Half Marathon in February this year in preparation for the full marathon which is approaching at a rate of knots.  Training has been becoming increasingly harder as I have changed my focus from ensuring I actually make it to the finish line before it gets dark, to now pushing the volume of miles per week in attempt to make sure I don't let the Clock Tower Sanctuary down.

If you can help me on this quest, please do. I know you have heard it all before, but every little truly does help both the CTS in their great work, and myself in extra drive and motivation to run the marathon.

"The Clock Tower Sanctuary is the only drop-in service providing all-round information, advice and support to homeless young people (aged 16-25) in Brighton & Hove. The charity works with homeless young people to help prevent further decline, unlock their potential and get their lives back on track. £10 can pay for a young person to have a shower, wash their clothes, have a hot meal and talk to our specially trained volunteers".

Please take a minute to look at their website, these people are making a difference.
