Hi everyone, thanks for visiting my fund raising page. Here is my story...
I very rarely run for charity as I do so much running and it's my hobby but last year everything changed. Back in May 2017 my partner Louise was diagnosed with grade 2 breast cancer which came completely out of the blue and was a huge shock as she was only 34 years of age and otherwise in good health. Before we had time to digest the news it was a whirlwind of scans, appointments, tests and then she was fast-tracked into treatment where she endured 7 months of aggressive chemo, surgery and radiotherapy. Louise never complained about the horrible side affects though, bravely taking it all in her stride. She even found the time to laugh and joke whilst sometimes too ill to even get out of bed or off the sofa.
Thankfully she was given the all clear in November and she is slowly getting back to her old self. We really couldn't have got through it without the fantastic support of family and friends but more importantly she wouldn't be here now if it wasn't for the amazing treatment and care she received from the CANtreat centre in Runcorn. I didn't know much about CANtreat before Louise was treated there but have since discovered it relies on donations from individuals, institutions and fund raising so I am running the Chester marathon on 7th October in aid of CANtreat as a way of giving something back.
Any donations made will be very much appreciated.
