Story
Right guys, I'm doing the Reading Fun Colour Rush this summer (I was originally going to do the Newbury one but I had to switch and JustGiving won't let me change the event). For those of you who have no idea what is is (which is probably most of you), it's a 5K colour-powdered obstacle course which is great fun, but also a great way to fundraise for a great cause.
The charity I'm supporting are called the Pamoja Project. I worked with them during my gap year and they do all kinds of cool stuff- including child sponsorship, small business grants, and a tailoring course for underprivileged teenage girls. You can check out their website here: http://www.pamojaproject.org/
One of their latest ventures is a welding course for teenage boys. It's a free programme for boys who have failed secondary school. There will be 15 boys in training in a 6 month- 1 year course. Since every house has welded bars on their doors and windows, welding is good trade and the boys will be instantly employable. £300 will provide safety goggles for the course so the boys will be safe during their training. Any extra will go towards food support for struggling families.
So please please take the time to donate a £5 or so for this very worthy cause.
