I was lucky in that I was able to come to terms with my colostomy reasonably quickly over a few months and with the support of my local NHS stoma nurses. But for many that transition is more problematic and they require support that cannot be given by a local stoma nurse. 

Colostomy UK is a national charity that offers support and advice to people with stomas and to their families, carers and friends. Colostomy UK also campaigns and acts as advocates for ostomates on the many issues they face going about their daily lives. We want hidden conditions to be understood and accepted by all.
