We provide unconditional friendship, support and practical help to people in crisis and in need. We work with children, homeless people, all adult victims of modern slavery and those dealing with drug and/or alcohol addiction

Story

We are a group of local people in and around the Old Swan area of Liverpool who have come together to respond to the Syrian Crisis, one of the greatest humanitarian crises of recent decades. We are hoping to welcome one Syrian refugee family into our area through the government's Community Sponsorship scheme (see here for a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MT3aaKEkLUU&t=30s).'

We cannot help all the refugees that we see in the media but we need to raise £9000 for the Home Office to authorise ONE refugee famly to come to the UK and settle into our local community.

There will be a comprehensive plan to help them settle and we will find rented housing, schools, doctors etc and support them as they try rebuild their lives.

Even a small donation will help us make a difference to one family.

The Salvation Army is the 'sponsor charity' for our group, and consequently will be holding the money for our group, but every penny will go towards supporting the refugee family when they arrive.'
