We provide vital, regular social contact to combat loneliness amongst older people

Story

Following the success of our Tough Mudder entry in 2017, Comply Direct have decided to get down and dirty for a second time!  The memories of electric shocks and mouthfuls of mud and all the cuts and bruises have faded, and we're ready to go harder and faster and raise even more money for such great causes.

Over half (51%) of all people aged 75 and over live alone (ONS, 2010) and research shows that loneliness can seriously impact our health. 

Contact the Elderly organises free monthly social events for small groups of isolated older people.

Re-engage is dedicated to fighting loneliness in old age. We help people over 75 who are facing loneliness and social isolation to re-engage with their communities through regular social contact, giving them a lifeline of friendship and something to look forward to. We have also recently launched call companions; our telephone befriending service for thousands of vulnerable older people in the UK.
