Story
Chailey Foundation is a pioneering charity dedicated to enriching the lives of young people with complex physical disabilities and health needs. Its vision is simple and clear - every young person will be given every opportunity to make progress towards fulfilment.
Earlier this year, they opened Patchwork Farm, a new Therapeutic Care Farm based on-site which enables the children and young people they support, all of whom have complex physical disabilities and health needs, to regularly spend time in a farm environment.
This year at Corporé, we’re combining our efforts to raise money towards a new project which will enable Chailey Foundation to develop the farm. Over the next 12 months, various members of our team will be taking part in charitable events to help us raise as much money as possible for this great charity. Activities include:
- Dry February will be headed up by Sue Balnaves who is in the process of recruiting members of staff to join her. This means absolutely no alcoholic beverages for a whole 28 days (good luck with that one!)
- Emma Thomson will be taking her fundraising international when she runs the Barcelona marathon on 11th March
- Rachael Chadwick will be tackling her second ever marathon in Manchester on 8th April
- Lauren McClusky will be participating in 12 events over 12 months including a 10k, a triathlon, 3 peaks, a marathon and even swimming Lake Windermere with one of her chosen charities being Chailey Foundation
With staff signing up for new events throughout the year, this list is only going to get longer. Check back regularly or follow us on Twitter for updates (@CorporeUK).
Your donation, no matter how big or small, will help contribute to the addition of raised beds within Patchwork Farm to provide the children with new and engaging learning opportunities and to pursue their potential by accessing every possible opportunity for independence.
