Story
This year I ran the Worcester City 10k on Sunday September 16th. As I have done the last couple of years, I ran, along with my Open GI colleagues, to raise money for our company's charity of the year which, this year, is Acorns Children's Hospice. They offer a network of care for life limited and life threatened babies, children and young people and their families, across the heart of England with a hospice right here in Worcester (as well as Selly Oak and Walsall).
However, for the Worcester City Run I was selected as an Events of the North Ambassador, so I was not able to run in one of our Open GI / Acorns running vests, but in my EOTN ambassador shirt. So, on the hunt for something else to do to properly support Acorns this year I am running my first half marathon in Birmingham on October 14th.
Not only this... but as I went to sign up for the event I saw a picture of "Alex the Acorn", who is Acorns' mascot, running and I asked the question "Is it possible to run as an Acorn?"! So, guess what's happening at the Great Birmingham Run on Sunday...
Please support me in my efforts!!
