Story

I have known Hazel and Simon for 15 years. Their son Bill was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at 4 years old and I have known him his entire life.

I have seen the difficulties and challenges that having Type 1 diabetes has caused him and his family and also to see a little boy grow up to be a teenager and the challenges he has gone through and will continue to do so. I have watched as technology has changed over the years and am excited about new technologies and treatments that can help to create a world without diabetes.

Being able to contribute something towards the research of treatments, cures and technologies for both Bill and others by raising funds for Diabetes UK is an honour. #hopeisinacure

A bit about me, I'm married, have 2 young children (6 and 1), unfortunately a knee injury a few years ago made me wave goodbye to my (glittering?!) football career, after an operation and rehab I found running again thanks to a local parkrun and then joining a local running club Wrexham AAC. Since then I have run many races at various distances including half marathons.  I now need my next goal, running the London Marathon has always been an ambition, 26.2 miles is a very long way though!

Thank you to my workplace, Elegance Natural Skin Care, they are very supportive, as are many of our fantastic customers.

Diolch yn fawr/Thank you!
