The MND Association was founded in 1979 by a group of volunteers with experience of living with or caring for someone with MND. Since then, they have grown significantly, with an ever-increasing community of volunteers, supporters and staff , all sharing the same goal – to support people with MND and everyone who cares for them, both now and in the future. They are the only national charity in England, Wales and Northern Ireland focused on MND care, research and campaigning. 

On Wednesday 23rd July 2014 I will participating in the 12km Foulee de Festayre which is run from the city of Biarritz to Bayonne in the South of France.

I decided rather than just running the race I thought it would be a great opportunity and experience to raise some money for such an important charity The Motor Neurone Disease Association.

£35 buys an adapted cutlery set to help someone with MND continue to feed themselves

£110 funds a specialist communication app for a tablet/ipad/laptop

£250 buys a specialist joystick to enable somebody to continue working

£550 funds the installation of a stair lift and initial six months rental
