Story

2014 saw a massive lifestyle change for me.On the 7th September 2014 I completed the GNR, then on the 28th September 2014; I completed the Redcar Half Marathon... My goal was to finish in under two hours - I made it on both.I decided to keep running and as of December I could manage 19 miles continuous running.
In April 2015 I finished the Manchester Marathon 26.2 miles, smashing the goal I set myself of 4 hours, to finish in 3hrs 44mins and 36secs.
The show must go on, so the challenges get harder.
In September 2015 my biggest running challenge to date - the epic Hardmoors 60. 62 miles from Guisborough to Filey - off road and over every one of the big hills on the way.
I'm enjoying the challenge, the experience and the health benefits of running. It's even more satisfying that I get to raise money for a very worthwhile cause. As many of you will know I am a volunteer crew member and helmsman at Redcar Lifeboat station.Ask anyone why they would give up their free time and put themself into a potentially dangerous and unforgiving environment like the North Sea on a cold winter's night...Whatever answer they gave would not stop you from thinking they were a little bit crazy...Ordinary people just like me are doing this in areas all around our coast, they ask for nothing in return. It is essential that the volunteer crews have second to none training and the very best equipment available.Anyone that is kind enough to sponsor me for this event can be assured that their donations will be used to enable the volunteer crews of lifeboats around our coastline, continue to save lives at sea.Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity
