Cycle for Dementia · 1 March 2020 to 30 June 2021 ·
The coming months are set to be tough and COVID-19 will hit people affected by dementia the hardest. This also means that our ability to ramp up support for the people who need us is at risk. We are estimating the scale of deficit to be in the millions, both as a result of COVID-19 and the impact on our fundraising income. So were asking you to go the extra mile and sign up now to take part in our Cycle for Dementia challenge.
I lost both my grandparents in the last 12 months, both suffered with Alzheimer’s in the end, it’s a soul destroying disease not only for those suffering but for family still caring for people who are suffering. Becoming a stranger to someone who has been there all your life is no fun, so during this lockdown, I would like to do my small part in helping research into this disease.
I’m not a cycling enthusiast nor am I in any way fit enough to cycle long distances so this is a challenge for myself too.
