We are again partnering with the ALS Association, ALS is known as Motor Neurone Disease (MND) in the UK.
We've specifically signed up for the DC/MD/VA Chapter, to remember our great friend Melissa Reagan Smith.
Melissa lived in Virginia and was employed by Bruce and Kathy Hornsby for many years. Their children grew up together and over time they all became family.
Melissa's diagnosis sent shock waves through not only through her friends and family, but also her community, including the patrons of Bruuuce.com. The outpouring of support she was shown then continues now, as many people contribute to the fight for a cure, ask after her family and cultivate the bonds of friendship made at a time of turmoil, and even take care of people in their own lives who have been affected by this horrible disease.
We lost Melissa's body in 2010, but her spirit lives on, reminding us to cherish the people we have and fight for what we love. It is because of her thoughtful and giving countenance that she came to be friends with Si, the creator of Daily Dose Day, who her eldest daughter, CiCi, married just over a year ago. Kathy Hornsby took the photos at their wedding.
This clearly illustrates the legacy of love Melissa leaves behind, and we are grateful for the opportunity to honor her memory in this way.
We look forward to a world without ALS, when the last diagnosis is made and the last person affected is cured. Donations like yours will help make this a reality, and also help care for those who suffer until that day comes.
Currently, the ALS Association is helping people all over the United States living with this disease and pushing closer and closer towards a treatment and a cure every single day.
