I'm proud to be joining Team Tommy in the London Landmarks Skyscraper Challenge to support their vital work saving babies' lives.

My wife and I have enjoyed the highs and suffered the lows of pregnancy and childbirth. It can be such a tough journey when things go wrong and most people don't want to talk about it even if they've experienced the same thing.

That's why Tommy's is such an import charity. They fund research into miscarriage, stillbirth and premature delivery, and provide valuable support to families after the loss of a baby.

So please put your hand in your pocket and back me in this unique and rather alarming challenge. I don't mind the prospect of running to the top of the Cheesegrater (or not so much) but the thought of then sliding through the open air to the Gherkin gives me more than goosebumps.

To give you an idea of where your money could go the £2500 that I've agreed to raise (although I'm hoping for more) would fund 10 consultation sessions with Prof Alex Heazell, Director of Tommy's Stillbirth Research Centre in Manchester. Now that's worth having!
