Story
In Spring 2018, I will be taking on a momentous journey by walking the Pennine Way. This is a famous 268 mile walk stretching from Kirk Yetholm, Scotland to Edale, Derbyshire through some of the finest upland walking in England. My journey will take roughly 12 days and I will need to walk roughly 22 miles per day.
I will be walking in support of Brain Tumour Research which is a charity that means a lot to me. At the age of 4 my dad was diagnosed with a glioblastoma multiforme (a type of brain tumour). He was told he had a maximum of 12 months to live but he ended up battling the disease for 22 months when he unfortunately died. I was 6 years old and it hit me very hard. It has now been almost 11 years since he died and I would now like to show my support and help other people like him who are battling through this disease. Brain tumours are the 9th most common cancer in the UK but Brain Tumour Research only receive 1% of Cancer Research's funding so it is safe to say that Brain Tumour Research need more support.
I would be grateful for any support that you can give. Thank you in anticipation. I'll keep you updated on the way.
