We fund medical research to give HOPE to future DIPG families

Story

We are raising money for Abbies Army to support research for DIPG, 100% of the money will go to trials and research. Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma -  (DIPG) is a highly malignant brain tumour (cancer) located in the 'PONS' or pontine area of the brain stem, almost exclusively affecting children. There is currently NO cure.

On the 12th April 2019 we lost the beautiful Sofia (Fifi) to this awful disease. Fifi was in my little boys class at school and it hit everyone like a brick, no child or family should ever have to endure this and it breaks my heart every time I think of it. There is currently no cure for this disease and even trials aren't running. If there is anything at all I/we can do to help I feel it is the least we can do.

In October, Jamie and I will run the Marathon Des Sables, 6 marathons in 6 days in the Sahara desert. We will be self sufficient for the week carrying everything we need, including food, in our back pack, sleeping under the stars. It is said to be the toughest foot race on earth and will be the biggest challenge we have, or are ever likely to face. The pain we will experience will not be a fraction of what Fifi and her family and all these other children and their families have faced and are facing on a daily basis. This is for them x
