Story

On the 2nd August 2015 I will be riding in the Prudential RideLondon - Surrey 100, but that's merely the end of the challenge I'm setting myself.

Between now the 2nd, I will be attempting to complete the cumulative distance between the Moving Brands New York and San Francisco studios in the states. A total distance of 4,680km, all being covered by road bike.

I'm going to be recording GPS data from all the rides on my way that magic number, as well as taking photos and keeping a journal of the whole thing. If there's time, I'm hoping there might even be some nice little digital output that can be produce using the data I generate, but we'll see.

I'm doing all this in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital in conjunction with the Olive Martin Fund.

The fund was set up by my friend and colleague after his daughter sadly passed away earlier this year.

Here's a short back story to the fund from their Just Giving https://www.justgiving.com/olivemartin/

Our beautiful daughter Olive was born on 7th June 2014 with a very complex heart condition, sadly too complex even for the team at Great Ormond Street Hospital to fix. After two 9-hour open-heart procedures in the space of a week, and another week of being fully supported on ECMO, our brave little girl passed away in our arms on 22nd July 2014, only 6 weeks after she was born.

Why are we doing this? Clare and I are determined that everything we do in Olive's memory can help other sick children and their families. For this reason we have chosen to support Great Ormond Street Hospital – specifically we want to fund break-through heart research projects and also contribute to further advance the care of all GOSH patients and families.

It's a devastating story, and something I would hope touches everyone who hears it. I've always wanted to help contribute to charity by using my bike, and I think you'll all agree that this is an incredibly worthy cause.

Please give what ever you can and feel comfortable giving. Your contribution however big or small will be greatly appreciated, and will be going towards a genuinely life changing organisation and helping countless people.

Thanks!

Wish me luck!
