Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Recently, my son Kyan, has been diagnosed with Perthes disease. This condition means that the top of his thigh bone in his hip joint has died and is crumbling. He needs to have a series of procedures and operations to try and contain the bone he has remaining. At the moment he can only walk very short distances (with crutches) and will, at some point, need to use a wheelchair. He now lives every day in pain, and unable to do things that every 12 year old boy can and should be doing. Perthes is a rare condition, which usually affects children between the ages of 3 to 10, but the older the child, the worse the prognosis tends to be. Before his diagnosis, we had never heard of this condition and Stretton Eagles have kindly arranged a charity parents vs coaches football match. We would like to use this to raise money for the Perthes Association, who use the money to fund research into the condition. We would also like to raise awareness of perthes and see this as a good way to do this.
All donations will be massively appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Dave, Emma, Kyan and Niamh.
