Katharine House Hospice is a local charity which offers holistic care and support for people with advanced life-limited conditions across mid-Staffordshire. They treat people suffering a range of conditions including Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease, end-stage Renal failure and cancer.
Their aim is to enable patients to live their lives as fully and as comfortably as possible whilst providing support to their families/carers.
Their services are all offered free of charge and they need around £3m each year in order to do this, two thirds of this are charitable donations from the public.
I have friends who have accessed their care and friends who have or do work with them. It's an honour to run for a local charity that provides such vital services. They've been around in Stafford for as long as I can remember and the pandemic has stretched them in many ways, particularly financially. Running to raise money for them will hopefully help to ensure they are around to continue their work. Please consider donating any amount at all. We always hope that we or someone we love wouldn't need them, but if we ever do, let's make sure they're there.
