Story

Clarky Walks The Wall 3-8 September,2020 #MarchForACure

For this years BIG WALK I’ll be limping the length of Hadrian’s Wall, around 90 miles, from Wallsend near Newcastle , across England and finishing near Carlisle. I was planning a trip to Everest base Camp, but that nasty virus got in the way!

Although this walk is a Little easier than going to The Himalayas, it’s still a a big challenge. My 10 years living with Parkinson’s means walking is becoming increasingly difficult. I also had knee replacement surgery a year ago. Parkinson’s could eventually rob me of the ability to walk, talk and smile, it’s a one way street, there’s no cure. I’m reliant upon my medication 3 times a day to keep me moving. The pills I’m on were discovered more than 50 years ago. I think we can do better.

I know these are tough times, but if you can help me to help Parkinson’s UK fund a cure, that would be fab.

If you can’t donate, sharing this page on social media would be great. Thanks for listening x

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.
