As some close friends will know, I've been working on a project the incredible true story of the Kajaki minefield incident, which took place on 6th September 2006 and resulted in the death of Cpl Mark Wright, 3 PARA, as he organised the rescue of a wounded colleague.

Three other soldiers also lost legs in the incident and to pay my own tiny tribute to their heroism and sacrifice I've decided to undertake a parachute jump in aid of the British Limbless Ex-Servicemen's Association.  

The jump is scheduled for 6th September, 2014, eight years to the day after the minefield incident.  I am  jumping alongside Cpl Stu Pearson, one of the men who lost a leg that day, as well as his girlfriend Julia Wilson, Scott Kyle,  and Tom Williams.

The jump will also, hopefully, mark the successful end of the film's shoot in Jordan the day before.

But this is us putting our own nuts on the line, doing something we thought we would never have the guts to do.  Because when you understand what these men and women went through in Afghanistan on your behalf, you realise that jumping out of a plane above Salisbury Plain is the very least you can do to support them on their road to recovery.
