The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice, situated in Bellahouston Park, Glasgow, exists to help our patients achieve the best quality of life possible in whatever time remains for them. Where it may not be possible to add days to lives, we aim to add life to days for patients and their families.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.

I am running in the London Marathon on the 22nd of April 2012 to raise money for the Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice in Glasgow. The hospice provide specialist care for people with life-limiting illness, usually cancer, and support for their families and carers.  The work that the Hospice undertake really is remarkable.

I am by all accounts a novice runner but have always wanted to try and run a marathon. I was lucky enough to get a place at this year’s event through my employer Allianz who will be matching every penny that I raise.

The goal at the start was to just finish the race but after some training sessions that goal moved to ‘finish in a time faster than Lloyd Scott did wearing the deep sea diving suit’ and is now to ‘finish without walking/or in an Ambulance’. As the training progresses I am hopeful that the target may even involve a respectable time being mentioned but we will see.

Thank you once again for visiting my page and making a difference to this worthy cause.
