After running 16 marathons in all my years, my knees are worn and my body is nearly spent. But I have one more in me, so I'm giving it one last shot.

Like many of us, I'm aging rapidly. In the next few years I hope to have a comfortable and happy retirement. But that can never be guaranteed for myself or anybody. Sadly, some of the most vulnerable among us, the elderly, can have difficulty facing illness, financial distress, and loss. Any one of us may need help as we age.

In the 1980s I discovered my passion for running and ran my first marathon in Poole. Likewise, Help and Care began their first years helping the elderly in Dorset in 1985. And although I'm winding down my running career, Help and Care have been expanding their services and are helping more people than ever.

I want to use my last burst of energy to give Help and Care a big push as we all run up this great hill of Life together. I hope you'll help be part of this push.
